Twitter Moments Can Now Support Web Links

Twitter is adding more options to its feature 'Moments' according to its blog post.

Twitter launched its feature, ‘Moments’ in 2015, which has been similar to its competitor, Snapchat’s Live Stories. Moments is a video-like feature with a bunch of relevant pictures and videos merged together into one single content outlet. Now this feature is getting further updates, according to blog post of the micro blogging company. This feature will now be able to support web link on both operating systems, Android and iOS.
The social media network newly added feature, moments, could be expected to have more capabilities and enhancement to make it even better. Initially, the feature was only supportive of images, videos, polls and vines, but now it will be able to support links so that publishers can tell their part of the story in their very own websites, through the provision of links. This is going to attract more publishers on the platform, as they can even advertise their brand.
Twitter Inc users will now have the opportunity to simply click on the link that has been given through Moments and they will be redirected to the website where the article or the relevant content is actually present. The company is not letting the tradition of the internet die so soon. By not exploiting the process of hyperlinking, and staying to its root, the same cannot be said for of the social media companies. Publisher can also be given credit for his hard work and the actual source from where the content was picked up can be accessed, which is spectacular.
Once users click on the given link and reading the desired article, they will be redirected back to Moments on the social platform and continue from wherever they left, which provides the convenience and authenticity. The social media advertising company has also signed partnership deals with various publishers that will show their set of pages through the feature. The feature of storytelling is going to be in-depth and enhanced through the addition of links.
The AMP-powered web support will enable the publishers to make work conveniently and faster. They would get a wider variety of audience for every category of content posted. The support for both operating systems – Android and iOS – is going to be available anytime now. Twitter is not the only organization that has been involved in the AMP project. Others are also collaborating, including Chartbeat, Adobe, Google, etc. to focus on accelerating the web on mobile devices.

The Story Of Twitter Moments

Here is how Forbes explained why Twitter came into being and what is its purpose.

It has been a tough year for Twitter Inc. as it did not only post poor results but did not improve its business at all. The company’s user growth is stalled as well as the monthly active users are declining which is worrying the shareholders and investors. A few months ago, the company was on its verge to launch one of its most anticipated products, Project Lighting, which is also known as Moments. During that time, Moments was a win win situation for the social media network.
Analysts and professionals claimed that it will prove to be a game changer for the company in the coming times. Twitter is not only battling in the market to compete against Facebook but now it has to do well so that it can lure more users on its platform that are currently preferring the likes of SnapchatInstagram, and WhatsApp as their normal routine social media network. Moments was said to be not only improve and increase the user growth but make things attractive for the existing users as well.
As Forbes reported, “If Twitter’s primary challenge has been to simplify discovery of its rich content and become more relevant for novice and non-users, then Moments takes a critical first step forward in that mission.” The social media website was created for this purpose only however ever since its inception it has not been used for the purpose it was created for. And this annoys the old investors that have been with the company from the time it was not public.
Facebook generates most of its revenues from advertising and when Twitter tried to boost advertising and marketing on its platform, it miserably failed as no big name advertisers and marketers chose Twitter to do business. But gradually, this has changed. Several businesses and brands are now looking to promote in order to extend their reach and presence throughout the social media.
Twitter has been a victim of immense criticism recently because of lack of its product direction. Everyone uses Twitter the way they want to use it. Hence all the virtual happenings that take place across the globe is actually reported on Twitter first in comparison to other social platforms. Forbes wrote “For brands, the opportunity is to start rethinking their approach to media publishers.  As curation becomes increasingly central to news delivery, brands should pay close attention to trending stories and topics that align with the most influential curators such as Twitter.”
