Delta Has Plans To Resume Flights To Russia

Delta Airlines is going to be resuming its flights to Russia starting from May 16 this year.

Delta Airlines has announced the plan of resuming its flight operations to Russia, starting from May 16 this year. The news was published by Russian news agency TASS on March 4 that the American air carrier will be operating in Russia yet again.
The air travelling company already has a flight scheduled for May 16 and will be launched according to the plan. It is going to fly from Moscow to New York from the Sheremetyevo Terminal D. The flight operations to Russia stopped on December 1, 2015, after the organization’s announcement in April last year. Apparently, the airline did not stick to its decision.
Delta Airlines was not the only carrier that suspended its operations until 2016; the uplift depended on the prices of the particular market. The Russian market is at its peak of crisis and a surge in passenger seats is expected to take place in the summer of this year. The flight operations of the carrier are going to take place in Boeing’s 767-400 ER with ticket prices starting from 435 Euros. The Russia operation was halted mainly because of the extra costs and the US dollar being stronger than the local currency.
The airfare for February has given the American air travelling company hope again. Delta was the first airline that stopped its flight operation to Russia or at least suspended them for a while; however, it never stopped keeping a very close watch on the market of the country in order to start the operations when the situation is better again. The decision has finally been made that the carrier is going to start flying to Russia again and step back into the market to capitalize on the holiday season in summer.
Delta made headlines in the past year when it made the decision to cut the number of international flight and operations. International flights were cut by 3%. This was mainly because of the Dollar value and the negative role of the decline in oil prices that was taking place in some countries. Evidently, now the company is taking back, if not all, some of the decision it made.
