Tesla Motor has inspired automotive giants like Toyota to innovate and improvise.
Toyota Motors Corp. is the largest Japan based automotive giant that has shown some innovation when it comes to its cars. The company is geared up to come up with a new concept electric car in the month of April at the Milan Design Week, FY16. The concept cars are merely designs that depict futuristic technology and future growth prospects however, the company has surprised everyone by coming up with a unique concept in the world of concept cars. The giant is coming up with a concept car made out of wood instead of conventional materials like aluminum and steel.
On the other hand, Tesla Motors Inc. has immense experience when it comes to mass manufacturing but their funds are scarce. This has not stopped them from becoming the global innovators in the automotive industry and giving it new horizons for growth when it comes to launching electric cars or debuting autonomous technology in the fraternity. Initially, all those automotive giants that looked down upon the company are now the ones who are looking up to it.
Following their footsteps, Toyota Motors has also decided to disrupt the automotive industry. the company is bringing a futuristic concept by using to manufacture cars. The largest automotive company across the globe mentioned that the reason behind choosing wood is the innate characteristics of it such as modifiability and durability. As per the company, a car that is made using wood will transform easily and have its own defiant and unique characteristics. This will be a major transformation in the automotive sector changing its course.
As per the company, the recent electric car is said to be one of a kind vehicle that has been built. Moreover, it will restructure the paradigms of concept cars in general. TM is optimistic with its approach and hopes that the concept will sustain for a relatively longer time span. For the same reason, they have also installed 100 year meter within the car.
The wooden EV by Toyota qualifies as a roadster and has been coined Setsuna. The translation of Setsuna is moments in English. Tesla Roadster which was discontinued back in FY12 is said to be the first ever EV. The company also came up with the Roadster 3.0 Battery Update which expands the range by almost 35% to 400 miles for a price tag of $29K at the end of FY14. The modified version of the car was expected to be launched in FY16 but the CEO of Tesla, Mr. Elon Musk decided to postpone the launch till 2019.
Most automakers are devoted to offering clean energy solutions. For the same reason many concept cars are surfacing in the market equipped with EV technology. Tesla is said to be the biggest inspirations for companies like Toyota Motors who have the sophisticated technology but only need creativity to bring about a change in the fraternity. The automotive industry is getting saturated which is forcing the manufacturers to pace up so that they can remain on par with the demands of the industry.
